Severed Fifth

Recording Dates confirmed and Sample Track

I am pleased to confirm the recording dates for the forthcoming debut Severed Fifth album. I will head into the studio on Saturday 21st June and finish principle recording on Wednesday 25th June. The session will then go through a number of mixing sessions. I have no confirmed date for the release of the album yet, but I am hoping it will be sometime in mid to late July.

The album will feature at least seven original songs, and one song will be a re-recording of Beating Heart - the original recording is available at here: MP3 | Ogg. The new version of Beating Heart will maintain the same song structure, but the vocals will be slightly modified and fresher.

There will be plenty of updates and photos on severedfifth.com of the recording session as it developers, and some sneak peak sound bites. Stay tuned. :)

    Hi,

I’m a mastering engineer into heavy metal. I read that you’re recording yourself which is very brave.

My brother is a full time producer who’s working with metal all the time and he’s might make you an offer you might like: He’s might well be up for mixing a track for you for free. Quite simply, this opens doors for him like you wouldn’t believe, securing bands’ next albums etc. You can get more information here: myspace.com/alwynwalker (see the first thing: recording yourself)

I’d also be up for mastering a track for you for free as a trial.

You can e-mail Alwyn at info@komodorecordings.com or myself at info@msbmastering.com

    Regards,

    Darrell Walker

Like the song and the style. However if you’re re-recording it I would like to suggest that you change the bass drum sound (I hate that trebly thrash sound) and do away with the out of tune singing in the backgroud (don’t know if that was intentional :-p).
